What's fuzzy and adorable and back in stock at Landis' Labyrinth? Also, who's finally arrived at our depot? (Give up? Spoilers below!)

Calico Critters!  Finally, at long last, we have a mountain taller than most of our customers once again.  There's too many kinds to list, I have to point out the Caravan Family Camper that attaches to the Convertible Coupe Car.  If you have a little one who desperately wants a place for the Critters to live, but also wants a car for those lovely Sunday drives that they no doubt take in Calico Critter land, this could be the solution!  We also have yet more Hello Kitty in... including a gigantic stamp set, slippers, coin/mini bags, plush, and puzzles.

And now for the really big news.... THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE IS HERE!  This I believe is the final piece of the Landis' Labyrinth toy offerings puzzle.  With both Hasbro and Thomas now firmly in the Landis' Labyrinth family this year, we're happy to say we now really do have all of the major brands inside our little shop.  Now we can focus on finding more awesome lesser-known brands to add to the mix.  But back to Thomas... we have trains, tracks, and if you spend $40+ on Thomas and his friends, you get a free gift!  It's all in our backroom-area, where we've been slowly moving many of our younger "boy" items.  We still have play food, puzzles, placemats, and Green Toys back there, too, so be sure to check it out, and let us know what you think?

And because we like them so much, we have to share that we also have a whole new shipment of plush in from TY, including Beanie Boos, Beanie Ballz, and some ridiculously cute kittens and puppies.

With that all said, have a Happy Halloween!  We're looking forward to seeing all of the photos of your boos and ghouls dressed up for the occasion.  And just to throw out a brilliant idea one of customers told us about, offer $.25 in exchange for each piece of candy your kids collect tonight.  You get a year's supply of candy for the office, they don't get any cavities, and we have a whole store full of goodies they can purchase.  I know, I know, it seems like shameless self-promotion, but it really did happen last year, and I really do think it's a pretty sweet idea.  Get it... sweet?  Ha!  Happy Halloween!

On Larchmont: A few goodies from Melissa & Doug

It's been a quiet week for new shipments (and boy did we need a breather from shipments!), but we did get two new Peel & Press Sticker by Number sets from Melissa & Doug:  Flower Garden Fairy and Mystical Unicorn.  We always love our fairy products, but the unicorn is extra special since they're just so hard to find, especially in an art project kit, so we're pretty psyched about this one!

Like I said, we've been light on new items this week, but that's all going to change very soon.  Calico Critters should be on their way to us finally, and a huge shipment of Uglydolls shipped out to us today so we'll have those back in stock hopefully next week.  We also have an order of musical instruments from Grover-Trophy placed, and those should come in this month as well.  This is most likely our last shipment from them this year, as they tend to run out of stock by the end of November, so make sure to keep that in mind for the holidays. As always, if we're out of something, ask a sales associate to take your name and number and we can call you when/if we get it back in.   We're your friends, we want to help you as much as we can!

On Larchmont: Ready for Halloween?

'Cause we are!  In addition to the Halloween decor and jewelry that we have, we now have a select group of Halloween costumes in from Aeromax.  We have a limited supply of costumes this year (in many cases, only one of each style), so if you like one, snap it up while you can!  Choose from the following: ballerina, firefighter, physician, flapper, secret agent, astronaut (available for 18 months as well!), ladybug, pirate, or woodland fairy.  In addition to these costumes, we have disguises from Accoutrements in stock, and princess/fairy dress up accessories and tutus from Molly 'N Me.  We're already hearing kids talk about what they want to be this year, so if you want to avoid the crowds at the Halloween Pop-Up Shops, consider coming to Landis' Labyrinth for some Halloween goodies (they look much better in person, I promise)!

On Larchmont: New from Hasbro, Mattel, Int'l Playthings, Hello Kitty, and more!

So, last month was a crazy month, topped off by a crazy amount of new items piling in the last week and a half.  We have a ton of toys from Hasbro in the shop, including Beyblades (we will sell out of them soon based on the way things are going so stock up now!), classic boardgames like Risk, Perfection, Guess Who?, and Mousetrap, which Target always seems to be out of (I like to check out the big-box stores to see how we stack up).  We also have a mountain of Play-Doh, with lots of accessories and kits, and Littlest Pet Shop, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, some Sesame Street, and Nerf products.  Over 100 boxes from Hasbro came last week, so we are really full thanks to them... and Mattel.  That's right, we've got Barbies, Polly Pocket, Disney Dolls, Hotwheels, Matchbox, Uno, and more in from them.

For the diaper-wearing crowd, we've got some Playskool classics in stock from Hasbro, as well as toys from Int'l Playthings, including Viking Toys Chubbies vehicles... one of my absolute favorite baby/toddler toys, and those amazing, squishy, bouncy, soft, rubbery toys from Rubbabu.  If you aren't familiar with them yet, you must stop by to see and FEEL them... think stress balls covered in the most luxurious velveteen/fuzzy fabric imaginable, and in vehicle, animal, and alphabet shapes.  Truly unique, though not good for teething (the fuzz will come off and while it's not harmful, you don't want a fuzzy green mouth!), and one of our best customer suggestions so far.  If you want something soft and traditional, we have that in from Kids Preferred... classic Pooh plush and books, Biscuit the Dog, Mickey and Minnie Mouse plush, and more!

For the all-ages groups, we have more Hello Kitty slowly coming in. Our $.75 sticker books are a big hit, as well as the HK Musical Keyboard, and of course, HK jewelry.  The watches shown previously on this blog are on their way back to the manufacturer due to the incorrect positioning of HK's hair bow, but we will be getting replacements.  Hello Kitty is truly careful about her appearance... this bow must and shall remain on the right side of Hello Kitty's face only!  We also got in more of Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty, though we sold out of their Creatures putty the first week we had it back in.  We still have the small tins featuring a variety of their more popular putty, and, excitement of excitements... MAGNETIC PUTTY!!!  This is a gigantic tin of putty designed to be used with a magnet (one is included) that you can use to move the putty around.  So cool!

Another shop and customer favorite are the kids watches we carry.  They're only $12.95, and we have designs for both boys and girls (many of them new designs this time around, too).  Our Halloween selection is a big hit, too, with loads of sugar skull/ Dia de los Muertos-style accessories and decor among other items.

This isn't quite everything we've gotten in, but after a month's absence from this blog, anymore would be overload!  Stay tuned for Calico Critters, which we originally supposed to be here mid-September, but got pushed to the first or second week of this month (we had no idea, so we apologize to anyone who was told that they would be here... we thought they were on their way), and those Lego Minifigures series 5 figures... we're still waiting for them.  We received most of our Sept. Lego order in already, but the figures are backordered, so fingers crossed we get them in soon.  I have a Series 5 Cave Girl from Target that I'd like to trade (no, I won't trade my British Guard... not even for the Guy in the Dinosaur Suit, which I also want).

See you all soon!

Our Manhattan Beach Location is Now Open!

After a month of long hours, tons of sanding, and piles of new toys arriving everyday, we've opened the doors to our second location.  We're at 919-E Manhattan Ave., Manhattan Beach... the only toy store in the area, and right by the beach!  So come on in, and say 'Hi', and tell us what you think... taking our customers' advice and suggestions is part of what makes us unique.  A big thanks to the other businesses in the area for welcoming us to the neighborhood, our amazing toy reps who made getting the product in on time possible, Jim at The Beach Reporter, Amy at Easy Reader, and Pam at Larchmont Chronicle for spreading the word about our store, and all of our friends who volunteered their time to get this store up and running. We'll be having our Grand Opening Celebration October 29th in conjunction with the 24th Annual Halloween Carnival in town, so be sure to stop on by for raffles, balloons, and fun! We'll have postings for both stores on this site so everyone will be in the know about new products, favorite back-in-stock items, and reviews on the toys and games we carry.  And now that the dust has (literally) settled, we'll be updating this site much more frequently. So stay tuned... the best is yet to come for Landis' Labyrinth.

A view from the front the door of our new store!  Come in and see for yourself...
